Cook has spent over three decades in the courtroom, trying cases in both state and federal court, handling arbitrations, hearings, and appeals. He represents clients in matters involving business litigation, commercial and employment disputes, securities litigation, business transactions and counseling, and insurance. His peers have awarded him the highest possible rating, AV-Preeminent, from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting his professional reputation and record of ethical practice. He has been listed in Florida Super Lawyers for business litigation since 2013. Bill earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Stetson University College of Law, where he served as Notes Editor for the Stetson Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Book Award in Business Associations. He interned for U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich in the Middle District of Florida before being admitted to the Florida Bar in 1993. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th, 11th, and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Southern, and Northern Districts of Florida. He has also written and spoken on legal topics including insider trading, appeals, and civil procedure, and has co-authored two Florida Practice Handbook volumes. After three decades of litigating business disputes, Bill has come to see that a business dispute is rarely just a legal matter. It's a high-stakes, high-emotion event for the people going through it, and the legal side and the personal side both deserve real weight.
