How We Approach Every Case

We listen before we strategize.

Every case starts with understanding the full picture: the facts, the players, and what's truly at stake for you. You get a strategy that fits your actual situation rather than a playbook applied to your case.

We prepare like your case is going to trial, even if it never does.

We're trial lawyers by default, because regardless of whether the best path forward is a strong settlement or the courtroom, that readiness is what creates leverage. When the other side knows you're ready to go the distance, resolution often happens faster and on better terms.

We lay out your options, but you get the final call.

Litigation is an investment, and it is important our clients fully understand the realities of their legal situation. We walk you through every realistic path forward and advise on the best course of action, but you stay in control of the final decision.

We factor your personal context into the equation.

A business dispute is rarely just a legal problem: it's a stressful, high-emotion event for the people living through it. It affects decisions you're making about your business, your team, and even your personal life. We factor all of that in when we build your strategy, so the plan we land on works for the whole situation.

Winning Results For Real Clients

Obtained a $2.8 million arbitration award

for breach of fiduciary duty claims, including punitive damages, after our client's business partner locked him out of the business. Our client was also granted full control of the company and his partner was dissociated from the business and removed as manager.

Obtained an injunction against two former employees

Successfully obtained an injunction against two former employees who took our client's customer lists and other trade secrets and used them in a competing business.

Obtained rescission of a fraudulent business sale

Our client purchased a business based on the seller’s false statements that the business was in compliance with applicable regulations. After we filed suit and pursued  aggressive litigation, the seller agreed to a refund.

Obtained a summary judgment

Obtained a summary judgment dismissing claims of tortious interference with business relationships asserted against our client. Following the judgment, our client was awarded its attorney's fees and costs for defending the case.

Negotiated settlement agreement

Successfully negotiated a settlement agreement between two partners involving the division and allocation of ownership of six separate limited liability companies.

What to Expect When You Work With Us

Will I actually work with a senior attorney, or get passed to someone junior?

You'll have direct access to our senior attorney from your first conversation through resolution. We intentionally limit how many cases we take on so that doesn't change.

Do you only handle active disputes, or can you help before something becomes a problem?
Both. We represent clients in active litigation, and we also serve as ongoing general counsel for businesses that want a legal partner for contracts, structuring, and the decisions that come up before a dispute ever arises.
Will you push for a settlement, or fight it out in court?
Neither by default. We prepare every case as if it's going to trial, which is what gives you the leverage to do either well. That preparation often makes a strong settlement possible. However, if trial is what's best for your situation, we're ready for it.
What if my case doesn't feel like a "typical" legal matter?
There isn’t a typical legal matter. Every case comes with its unique set of facts and personalities. This is why we intentionally create space and time to hear your full story. We believe the personal and financial context of a case is essential to litigation, not separate from it.
How do I get started?
Request a consultation, and we'll talk through what's going on and whether we're the right fit for your situation.
